Introductory Story

For centuries, the Tauton River has been changing its shape and way. Tauton River has its source in Eton Lake followed by a system of meanders that ends in the Econ Lake. Along the Tauton River’s meanders, which are curves in the sinuous and complex watercourse, is settled a thriving society. The Tauton River has been regarded by this society since ancient times,
as a ‘River of Life’.

The Tauton ancient civilization achieved remarkable knowledge about the watercourse of its river, and prevented disasters and increased the benefit the river carries, as a source of life. However, many battles were carried out to control the river, its prosperity, and the richness of the trade between tribes. For a long time the tribes were devoted solely to upgrade their weapons and to conquer territories along the Tauton River. The tribes made pacts, alliances, and declared war between them again. The river started to dry out and the tribes were punished with hunger and disease.

Over the time, the river was shared peacefully, and in remembrance of those early stages of the ‘River of Life’, the tribes celebrate yearly a Tautoniac race, where ancient rafts are racing.

Take part of the challenging Tautoniac race finding paths, which lead from the origin at Eton Lake to the Econ Lake, as it is natural to assume that the river “looks for” this kind of meanders, in the sinuous, complex watercourse. What do you need to accomplish?

What do you need to accomplish?

Using the 16 scenery tiles in a 4 x 4 arrangement you must solve 3 challenges. Every challenge has multiple solutions.

You have to arrange the pieces so in the race:

Challenge 1:
All of the ancient rafts have to go in any direction between Eton Lake and Econ Lake.
If you have accomplished the first challenge, now you can try these other two challenges.

Challenge 2:
All of the ancient rafts have to go on the direction of Econ Lake.

Challenge 3:
All of the ancient rafts have to go on the direction of Eton Lake.

Note: There are tiles with two rafts on it. These rafts are going in opposite directions; these tiles will not be taken into account to determine rafts direction to find solutions to the challenges.

Register your solution. Note that each challenge can use a different combination of scenery tiles to generate multiple solutions. Find them all!

How you can register your solutions?

We suggest you to take a look how to register all your solutions, to figure out which challenges you have already solved.
In your notebook for registry solutions:

1. Use a column for each solution found.

2. Numbering on each column the order in which scenery appears in every solution. Being Eton Lake number 1 and Econ Lake number 16.

3. At the bottom of the column, cross out the circle that shows the direction in which the ancient rafts are going.
